The gene flow of Helieoverpa armigera Hubner ( Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) was studied in China. Materials were sam- pled in six major eolton growing regions and their genetic relationship was analyzed using ISSR-PCR. The screened primers reveal more presumptive polymorphic loci that were used to estimate population structure. Results demonstrated that there doesn't exit high gene flow among these investigated populations and that genetic variation was found between natural populations higher than among individuals within a natural population in this year. Cluster analysis indicated that there is once strong gene flow among Anyang, Jiujiang, Wuhan, and Fuvang populations, but Nanjing population has belter diversity than Kuerle with others. These results revealed that ISSR markers could be efficiently used for genetic differentiation of Helicoverpa armigera.
