摘要

Stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 ( SCD1 ) is a rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of monounsaturated fatty acids. The main function of SCD1 gene is to regulate the balance of lipid and carbohydrate, the other is to regulate normal development of skin and hair follicle. SCD1 therefore appears to be an important metabolic control point, and inhibition of its expression could be of benefit in the treatment of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other metabolic diseases.
