A high thermal stability of aluminum hypophosphite/reduced graphene oxide (AHP/RGO) hybrid flame retardant was successfully prepared by a one step method with the purpose of addressing the reaggregation of graphene and combining the flame retardancy of AHP and RGO.The as-prepared sample was characterized by A series of methods.The obtained sample was used as flame retardant for polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and the flame retardancy of the composites were investigated by Cone calorimetry.The results showed that AHP/RGO exhibited improving flame retardancy than that of bare AHP.The addition of AHP/RGO gave rise to an evident reduction of heat release rate (HRR).
