P(DMAEMA)-based polyplexes were coated with anionic lipids. The obtained lipid-coated polyplexes (LPP) showed a transfection efficiency that was not affected by hyaluronic acid (HA) indicating that lipid coating of polyplexes protects against destabilization by HA. By conjugating antibody Fab'-fragments directed against the epithelial glycoprotein-2 to the lipidic surface of these LPP, forming immuno-LPP (ILPP) target cell-specific transfection of OVCAR-3 cells could be obtained in vitro.
