Voice commands become a popular feature to operate a home automation system nowadays. There are two methods which can be used to develop the home automation system based on the voice commands. The first is by using a speech recognition and the other is by using a voice recognition. The speech recognition is going to convert an analog voice signal into a digital data. The result of this converted process is text data. Then, this data is matched to a certain data pattern which is stored in a database. Meanwhile, the voice recognition is going to recognize a voice by comparing its characteristic pattern with sound signal which become a reference that has been stored previously. Even house entities can be controlled by using the speech recognition or the voice recognition, there are certain parts which are more suitable if they are controlled by using the voice recognition rather than the speech recognition, such as the main door of a house. This is due to the use of the voice recognition, implicitly including a voice validation of a user. This means that even the voice command which is given by two or more different users is the same, only a valid user is authorized to access the main door by the home automation system. Determining who is permitted to access the door is done by recognizing a voice signal of the user who is previously stored in the system. In this research, a smart door system is going to be designed, in which once time of the voice command from a single user which is permitted to access the smart door are recorded and then the attempted accesses to that voice commands are performed by thirty other users.
