One of the main areas of application of soft magnetic composites is a magnetic core of electromagnetic transducers. Physical properties of magnetic core depend mainly on the kind of magnetic powder used for a manufacturing of a core. The compression moulding technology of producing magnetic elements has numerous advantages. These kind of soft magnetic elements are called dielectromagnetics or SMC (soft magnetic composites). There are soft magnetic powders with different physical properties on the market available. Within this work different powders were used in order to realize tailored physical properties in SMCs.The main goal of this research is to find a correlation between the influence of the starting powders and the physical properties of SMCs. As soft magnetic materials iron, cobalt, nickel, and permalloys powders were used. Results of measurements of magnetic, electrical and mechanical properties allow designers to find the suitable materials fulfilling the requirements for an electromagnetic transducers design.
