Flows of Darrieus-type ducted cross flow turbines for alternatingflow were simulated by 3-D Navier-Stokes analysis. The computationaldomain is constructed by composite grids, that is rotating grids fixed tothe rotor and grids fixed to the duct. The rotor is constructed by NACAfour-digits symmetrical section blades and disk end plates. The featureof blades is thick and long chord, that is no precedent. The duct hasrectangular cross section and straight parallel walls. Simulated flowfields are visualized by stream lines, pressure distribution, etc. In thecase of 3 blades of 0030 and its length = diameter, maximum efficiencywas 54%. It has great possibilities for practical use.
