The relationship between the ability of the water exchange and thewidth of the bay in two model sea areas are studied by means of anumerical analysis. Two model sea areas adopted in this paper are thebay with homogeneous fluid (mn H-A), the estuary with no densityeffect (ran H-B) and the estuary with a density effect (run S-B). Thenarrow bay mouth in the case of run H-A promotes the water exchange.Contrary the ability of the water exchange in the case of run S-Bdecreases with decreasing the width of the bay mouth.
