A series of tri-axial compression tests on tetrahydrofuran (THF)sediment samples were performed. Meanwhile, the ultrasonic wave andelectromagnetic wave reflection properties were measured withultrasonic transducer and time domain reflection technology (TDR). Itis shown that P-wave, electromagnetic wave and stress-strain behaviorsof hydrate sediment are affected by hydrate saturation. The shearstrength increases and the stress-strain behaviors are very differentwhen hydrate saturation increases. The physical properties obtainedfrom P-waveforms and TDR data are very good complements for betterunderstanding hydrate sediment samples.
