A Study on Optimization the Structure of Ship in Consideration of Layout of the Stiffeners

Many number of stiffeners are attached to the ship. If structuraloptimization with layout of stiffeners can be performed, it is effectiveagainst decreasing ship cost. However, the number of design valuablesmay change in structural optimization with number of stiffeners. But,the standard evaluation of strength and optimization method cannot beused. In this study, the method of FEM analysis and the geneticalgorithm with layout of stiffeners is examined. And so, the structuraloptimization of ship with layout of stiffeners is performed.
