摘要

The deepwater riser may experience vortex-induced vibration (VIV) asexerted by the flows in the sea. The fluid excitation of a flexible piperesults in modal vibrations. To solve the fluid-structure interactionproblem of vortex-induced vibration of bluff bodies at high Reynoldsnumber in a range of natural frequencies and damping ratios, the striptheory approach will be taken into this study, and the discrete vortexmethod (DVM) is used to calculate the vortex-induced vibration ofeach strip, while the finite volume method (FVM) is employed forevaluating the structure dynamics of a 3D deepwater riser.
