An analysis of the existing methods for calculating the radiation properties of combustion products of power fuels shows their unsatisfactory accuracy and reliability, which affects the reliability and efficiency of equipment. It should be considered rational to obtain the dependences of the emissivity factor of carbon dioxide vapors and water vapor on the optical density of the medium and its temperature according to the reliable experimental data. The system of interdependent functionalities obtained by this rule in the space of optical density and temperature has sufficient data reliability as compared to the experiments. The practical application of the results is considered in relation to the temperature of the enclosure of the combustion chambers of gas turbine units (GTU) and the intensive combustion zone of steam turbine units (STU). In the first case, with the known cooling system of the combustion chamber wall, its temperature is determined, which determines the operational integrity. In the second case, the determination of the temperature of the enclosure in solid fuel boilers allows to solve the problem of the ignition stability and the reliability of fuel combustion.
