'Whether PDPs lead fortune or else fortune PDPs' - this is to be determined by the success of PDP cost reduction. Various methods of the reduction are examined. A PDP efficiency improvement is among them. This requires an adoption of a closed cell structure and an increase of Xe pressure. Also an effective use of a space-charge priming is suggested for reduction of the operating voltage.
