Recent R&D efforts on the performance improvement in the UV-EL/PL full color display device have been reported. Multi-layered thin film device has a structure of ZnF_2:Gd UV-EL combined with RGB phosphors utilizing the UV emission of 311.5 nm as PL excitation source. The maximum luminance of 80 cd/m~2(red), 100 cd/m~2 (green), 17 cd/m~2 (blue) was obtained under 5 kHz sine wave operation, respectively. Some technical data for not only EL films but also dielectric material fabrication processes and device characteristics are demonstrated and discussed.
