Ammonia-producing bacteria (APB) was isolated from the surface of Cu-Ni alloy in seasediment. It was identified as Gluconobacter asai. ESEM/EDS and electrochemical technology wereapplied to reveal their effect on corrosion of Cu-Ni alloy. The result showed that APB could cause severecorrosion on B10. In this paper, the mechanism how the ammonia-producing bacteria influence corrosionwas studied.
