Formalization of the Maçdar Category by its Patterns Using the NooJ Platform

In this paper we will present a formalization of the Arabic grammatical categories based on the root/pattern approach and focusing on the Macdar category. We use the NooJ platform to implement an Arabic dictionary for this category and a local grammar in NooJ format. In this work we take the formalization of Arabic categories from its very Arabic Morphology basics and move on the practical exploitation of these principals in a well working system that recognizes and classifies grammatical categories of the Arabic language, and that can be exploited by natural language engineers to build further applications for Arabic processing. The comparison of our system with well Known systems shows that it is very promising.
