摘要

Alumina-zirconia (Al_2O_3-ZrO_2) composite is widelyused as a ceramic material in implants for orthopaedicapplications due to its high mechanical resistance.Laser cladding has proven to be able to apply bioactiveglass (BG) coatings on titanium implants and toproduce small BG implants. In this work, the ability ofthis technology to produce macroporous bioactiveglass coatings on Al_2O_3-ZrO_2 composite has been alsoproven for two different bioactive glass compositions.
