Measurements and analysis of noise and vibration levelson board of coast-guard defence patrol vessels

In this paper we analyse the noise and vibrations levels distribution measured on board ofdifferent typologies of coast-guard defence patrol vessels. The measurements have been performed fordifferent operational assets in order to simulate typical patrol operations. It will be shown that the analysis ofsimultaneously measured noise and vibration data by means of a time – frequency approach permits both toproperly characterise the main different noise sources (distinguishing, for example, the aerodynamic from thevibrations or motors inducted noise contribution) and to isolate the “extraneous” noise events.
