One of the features in ubiquitous computing environment is that users can access services anytime and anywhere using computing devices. However, if users access a ubiquitous computing system in inappropriate environments, the system will be more vulnerable than any other systems. To protect the system from these environments, the system needs to apply Context-Aware Role-Based Access Control that assigns permissions to users when context requirements are satisfied. However, the problem of this scheme is to spend a number of costs for context validation. Besides, to spend long time and lots of costs is necessary for changing from existing computing environment to ubiquitous computing environment. Therefore, we should consider the environment that both existing and ubiquitous computing environment are combined. In this paper, we propose General Context-Aware Role-Based Access Control that can be used in existing and ubiquitous computing environment together, and reduces the cost of the Context-Aware Role-Based Access Control.
