A projected increase in LNG trade is bringing renewed pressures on impoved quantification of the risk associated with LNG transport and loading operations and ensuring that safety precautions are in place. The prerequisite step, in ascertaining and quantifying the risk involved, is to understand and quantify the physical processes which take place in the spillage and vaporisation of LNG on water.
