This paper presents a design and simulation method of electronic compensator for automatic optical leveling instrument to overcome reading errors and disturbances. The proposed compensator is electronic one, the controller was designed on an Arduino Uno board to control a servo motor for level correction in the optical instrument, and the compensator uses a digital control algorithm to reduce the optical collimation error by tracking the correct level setup using a gyroscope sensor and accelerometer mounted on instrument telescope. Proteus simulation shows the results and precision of the compensator. Lastly a comparison between the proposed and the old compensation system was discussed.
