Laboratory Evaluation of the Warm Mix Asphalt Performance in Liaoning

In this study, temperature of mixing under the condition of constructiondecreased by more than 20℃ through adding the Sasobit modifier into mixes. Ruttingtest, bending test at low temperature, fatigue test and dynamic modulus test wereconducted to evaluate the performance and mechanical characteristics of the asphaltmixes adopting LH90# base asphalt, LH90#+3%Sasobit modified asphalt,LH90#+3%SBS+3%Sasobit modified asphalt and LH90# + 4%SBS modified asphaltrespectively. It was induced that the dynamic stability and dynamic modulus increasednotably and the anti-deformation ability at high temperature enhanced for themixtures with 3%Sasobit, the crack resistance at low temperature and fatigueresistance ability decreased for the mixtures with LH90#+3%Sasobit and increasedfor the mixtures with SBS modified asphalt +3%Sasobit.
