Bragg reflectors: tapered and untapered

Abstract: A Bragg reflector composed of periodic cylindrically symmetric corrugations can provide a reflection of nearly unity through the principles of constructive interference, allowing the creation of a frequency selective resonator. Measurements of reflectivity and Q of the resonator for sinusoidal corrugations are presented. Measurement and simulation results for an improved reflector with a Hamming-Window amplitude distribution are also presented.!
