In modelling PWM voltage-regulator dynamics the circuit is assumed to be a linear time-variant system and width-modulation action on the output fil ter is represented by a suitable set of impulse generators applied at each switching instant. Once the feedback-loop is open the "comb" function of its characteristic response can be expressed by means of a recursive matrix relation; the latter is Fourier-transformed thus achieving the continuous function G (jw). In the discontinuous conduction mode, the procedu re directly provides an analytic expression. In any case, this exact model requires mlnlmum compu ting resources and runs on most popular personal computers.
