This paper deals with design, modeling and validation of More Open Electrical Technologies (MOET) and improvements in the utilization of electric power systems of the aircraft for addressing the concept of All Electric Aircraft (AEA) or More Electric Aircraft (MEA) with respect to Wings Ice Protection Systems (WIPS). Here the pneumatic power is replaced with electric power for Wings Ice Protection Systems (WIPS). The electric DC WIPS protects the aircraft against the build-up of ice on its structures. There are two ways: 1) Anti-Ice 2) De-Ice. The electric DC WIPS is designed to consume 68.9Kw maximum power at 270 VDC range, means 54.6kW for Anti-ice and 14.3kW for De-ice. The detailed simulation results are presented to prove the proposed electric DC WIPS concept with novel power control technique.
