Radio Frequency transmission and reception modules (RF modules) require a special power requirement where power is required only for short duration of time when they transmit or receive data, with high reliable power bursts which may last as small as 5us, which also require high currents. These design requirements of the RF power supply module (PSM) is achieved by incorporating interleaved flyback converter where the peak input current in the primary side of PSM is controlled by Slope Compensation current mode control along with fast control response, as required in RF modules and over power protection circuit is incorporated as high power is dissipated in very short duration of time. This paper covers extensive design procedure and hardware comprehension of RF module PSM which operates at a 100KHz switching frequency and the output power ranges from 8.05 W 80.5W having one output with high current output of 14A having 80% efficiency and power burst time can be varied between 5us-50us by controlling the gate pulses to the Low-Dropout Regulators (LDO) through external clock.
