摘要

The capacity of coals for mercury(II) has been studied and comparisons drawn with commercial active carbons and ion exchange resins. Low-rank coals and the oxidised bituminous coals have nearly comparable capacities to the active carbons and resins. A potential advantage of the high sulphur coals investigated is for the removal of mercury ions from acidic or high chloride ion media.
