Axle sustains all the weight of the vehicle,and the demand of safety and durability makes it become one of the major parts of railway vehicles.The fretting fatigue behavior at the wheel seat often cause crack initiation and earlier propagation,and thus obviously reduce the axle' s service life.In this paper,incomplete contact problems between axle and hub are considered by fracture mechanics method,the feasibility of using known stress intensity parameters to assess incomplete fretting contact problems is investigated.At first,the singular stress field near the incomplete area is obtained by using commercial code ABAQUS.Secondly,curve fitting method is used to determine the stress intensity parameter of the singular stress fields,the effects of fillet radius and friction coefficient on stress intensity parameter are discussed systematically.
