摘要

With the rapid development of automobile industry,more safe,durable and economical automobiles with higher quality are needed.For reducing vehicle weight and saving energy sources,aluminum alloys have been introduced as the main material body of automobile.Self-piercing riveting with semi-tubular rivet is a new joining technique that can realize the connection of aluminum alloys.In this paper,self-piercing riveting tests with semi-tubular rivet connecting 6063 aluminum alloy sheets and static tensile experiments for riveting joints have been done.The results show that the joint strength is impacted by joint configuration,die structure,rivet dimension and other process parameters.When the rivet is around 2.4mm higher than the thickness of connecting sheets,smooth joint morphology and adequate tensile strength can be gotten.Riveting performance with boss-concave die is slightly better than fiat-bottom die.Riveting with boss-concave die and fiat-bottom die are both feasible.Different joint configurations have impact on of self-piercing riveting joints,that is,static strength for lap-sheer specimens is the highest,then is coach-peel specimens,and crosstension specimens have the lowest static strength.
