A stable and fast-growing callus culture of Sonchus oleraceus L. was established. Two known triterpenes were isolated from Callus Cultures of Sonchus oleraceus cultivated on a modified MS medium with 2.0 mg/L NNA. The compounds were identified by analyses of the spectroscopic data the compounds were identified to be the combinations of betulinic acid (1) and oleanolic acid (2). Cytotoxic activations of 1 and 2 were evaluated against three cell lines, WI-38, VA-13 and HepG2. Compound 1 showed strong activity.
