摘要

Ultraviolet B (UV-B, λ = 280 ~ 320 nm) is the most harmful radiation contained in sunlight that reaches the Earth's surface. During the last 30 years, UV-B radiation has increased by approximately 10% due to the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer. It seems that the effect of solar UV-B on plant growth is not serious; however, some reports indicate the current level of UV light causes significant damage on crop yield (Teramura et al. 1990; Mazza et al. 1999; Hidema et al. 2005).
