Indus-2 is the second electron storage ring, being developed in CAT, Indore. It is a dedicated Synchrotron Radiation source operating in X-ray range with 2.5 GeV electron beam energy and 300 mA stored beam current. The whole circumference (~172.3 m) is divided into 16 bent sections (Bending Magnet chambers) and 16 straight sections. The Bending Magnet (BM) chambers are made of Aluminium alloy 5083 H321, which has got very good weldability and machineability. Twenty BM chambers (including four spare chambers) have been fabricated. All of them were leak tested and found acceptable. Among these, seven chambers have been tested for their vacuum performance. This paper describes the details of these tests and their results.
