With base in the precepts and technicalprocedures of ISO 6508-1 standard [1] andISO/FDIS 14577-1 standard draft [2], Rockwell hardnesstesting and instrumented indentation testing (IIT) werecarried out using a universal testing machine, throughadaptation of a system developed for these ends [3]. Theresults pointed out a good relation between the two hardnesstests, taking into account that IIT can provide other materialsparameters besides being the simplest method, not requiringany preliminary force or operator influence. Nevertheless, itwas observed the necessity of the improvement of the usedsystem, regarding the monitoring of zero-point.
