PROTECTION OF A NEW 500 KVA STATIC VAR GENERATOR

摘要

The paper briefs the main configuration of a new 500 kvar static var generator (SVG) designed and manufactured by the affiliated workshop of our Institute (NARI) and its features, then describes many different protection measures adopted for safety and smooth operation of SVG, specially for protection of gate turned-off thyristors( GTOs) in voltage source inverter (VSI) of SVG Some interesting test results are also given.
