Beyond Ka-band: Leveraging Q/V band to ensure the provision and future growth of broadband satellite communications

摘要

1. Commercial operator interest is growing and demonstrates that Q/V band has several potential interesting application and would significant increase the capacity of future multi-beam systems 2. The required Technologies and products have been identified. ESA is already supporting some developments and has planned to implement future activities to increase the TRL level. 3. First experience have been made thanks to TDP5 and knowledge has been acquired also in terms of manufacturing and testing 4. Further R&D support to foster technology development and demonstration is required in order to commercially exploit Q/V band
