A roadmap for the development of the next generation of reliable and dependable ultra-low carbon vehicles

Recent years have seen substantial funding invested by government and the private sector in trialling electric vehicles. In this paper we will describe efforts to investigate the reliability of electric vehicles and how this can be managed leading to an enhanced life span. A review of the literature on battery health management is used in combination with knowledge gained through interviews and discussions with relevant industry professionals to develop recommendations for future research in this area.
