Performance modelling of OrbixTalk: a message delivery system basedon reliable multicast protocols

This paper presents a pool of performance models for usernapplications using IONA's OrbixTalk, a software system that provides anreliable multicast objects message system using UDP-based IP multicast.nThe solution presents models for all the levels involved, from thenOrbixTalk user program level to the logical level regarding internalnproxies using UDP sockets over TCP/IP ports. The OrbixTalk models havenbeen included into the Models' Repository of HELIOS (HierarchicalnEvaluation of Large Information Open Systems), a CASE tool fornpredicting the performance of distributed information systems
