We present a high link budget Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) SoC supporting Bluetooth 5 new features. A conduction-angle-reduced 8dBm power amplifier utilizing a real-time output waveform symmetry feedback (SFB) is proposed to achieve both high efficiency and robust harmonic suppression capability. The spurious emission during the startup of the TX is suppressed by a preset function of the SFB. The RX with a MODEM supports Bluetooth 5 long-range modes. Using only a total of 9 off-chip components the proposed SoC achieves 113dB link budget and 22% TX efficiency including MODEM and PMU with a 3V supply. The SoC is compliant with the FCC regulations over PVT conditions.
