MULTISTAGE ARBITRATION FOR AVOIDING HOL BLOCKING IN WORMHOLE SWITCHES

摘要

This paper presents one approach for solving the Head-Of-Line blocking problem for wormhole switches, based on Virtual Input Queuing switch architecture and appropriate two-stage arbitration policy designed to increase the output utilization, while avoiding unfair arbitration and live-locks. The paper also presents results from formal validation of the proposed architecture.
