Low profile wideband inverted-L antenna for the M-ATV on-the-move HF communication

摘要

Novel low profile 2-arm inverted-L antenna for wideband vehicular on-the-move high frequency communications with support for ground wave, near vertical incidence skywave and long range sky wave mode is introduced. Operational frequency range spans from 3 to 30 MHz. The dimensions of the antenna are λ/17 (L) × λ/40 (W) × λ/125 (H) at 3 MHz. Two arms are shown to improve the bandwidth performance. The full scale prototype of the antenna system with a commercial-off-the-shelf tuner is also described.
