This paper presents recent advancements in the development of efficient high-power microwave absorber boxes used during high power thermal vacuum (HPTVAC) test of spacecraft payloads. The pickup horn (PUH) and generic pick up horn (GPUH) presented earlier [1], [2], [3], were designed to absorb up to 2 kW of power from a single radiating horn. Recent development increased power absorption to 4 kW while maintaining the same or better functionalities as the earlier units. CMI successfully designed, built, and tested several Advanced Generic Pickup Horn (AGPUH) that can absorb 4kW of power. Also presented is how the AGPUH advancements have been applied to array applications.
