The oblique plane-wave scattering and shielding analyses of multilayer carbon fiber composite material (CFCM) cylindrical shells is formulated and developed. A multifilament doublet currents method (MFDCM) is presented and studied, which is combined with tensorial boundary condition (TBC), to analyze the scattering and shielding performances. The bistatic echo widths are investigated under different layer numbers and fiber patterns. These different scenarios are also taken into consideration in the prediction of shielding effectiveness (SE). Both TE and TM modes are excited within the cylindrical shell under arbitrary incidence plane wave over high frequency range. Our numerical results are in good agreement with published ones. The proposed method is simple and concise, and it can also be applied to handle shells with arbitrary smooth cross section shapes.
