In this paper, a methodology to decoupling evaluation and redesign of inverted decoupler is proposed. Using the first-order plus dead-time (FOPDT) for two-input/two-output (TITO) process, an initial inverted decoupler is design. It is evaluated and redesign to reach effective decoupling at the frequency of interest. The relay-based experiment is used. Simulation example is used to illustrate the methodology. In addition, the methodology is applied to a TITO laboratory-scale thermal process.
