The paper presents the results of modeling and development of a thyratron type grid node with improved discharge parameters of gas-discharge current interrupter for a high-voltage pulse generator with inductive energy storage. With the help of modeling, it is shown that the change in geometry of the holes in the grid assembly does not lead to the dropping of electrical strength index. Advantages of gas-discharge current interrupter with such a grid node in a high-voltage generator are described. 3D model of the fabricated grid assembly is shown. Comparative description of the developed grid node and existing analogs is given.
