Two vacuum arcs columns with self-balance process was observed for horseshoe type electrode. 3/4 coil type electrode presented one arc column. Besides, vacuum interrupter with 3/4 coil type electrode met temperature-rise requirement at current of 2500 A according to simulation and experiment. Vacuum interrupter with slotted horseshoe type was suitable for normal current of 3150 A according to simulation. Finally, a 126 kV single-break vacuum circuit breaker with 3/4 coil type electrode was developed. It has passed type test according to standard ICE 62270-100.
