In this work the synthesis of the algorithms for adaptive nonlinear signal processing in tracking meters implemented using the nonlinear blocks (NLB) with feedback at the finite signaloise ratio (SNR) at the input is carried out. The amplitude transfer characteristics (ATC) of the NLB is optimized for the case when the NLB is exposed to broadband noise and narrow-band noise and when the SNR at the input of the NLB is of arbitrary value. It is shown that the minimum root mean square error (RMSE) ATC of the NLB depends on the noise probability density function and on a type of a signal. It is shown that for small SNR at the input of the NLB the minimum-RMSE ATC and maximum noise reduction ratio ATC of the NLB are the same.
