Discrete-events, usually considered to be 'inertialess' nondynamic events, are often the consequence of an underlying systems with well characterized dynamics. In such systems it is possible synthesis dynamic control systems using the separation principle paradigm. These observer-bas control systems are driven by threshold crossings events which convey minimal but sufficient information to reconstruct the state of the underlying system. Two examples of observer-based threshold event-driven systems are presented.
