The future of the energy supply systems worldwide is oriented to the development and use of renewable energies, among which solar energy is currently the most common. The technology associated with these sources is relatively recent and still requires developments that increase their efficiency, particularly in commercial photovoltaic. Hybrid solar modules (FV/T) are photovoltaic modules which integrate heat exchange to improve the energy production efficient. It is not only interesting for the generation of electrical energy it has an important impact on the use of thermal energy. The interesting point about this proposal is that the water flow through the heat exchange contributes to its preheating and decrease the temperature of the photovoltaic cell. Therefore, use this technology is relevant to increase the electrical efficiency of the solar module. In processes where the flow demand is not continuous, as sterilization in hospital trough autoclaves, it is necessary to generate a circulation of continues flow through the hybrid solar module (FV/T) in order to get benefits of this kind technology. Therefore, it is necessary to know the real performance obtained considering the energy required for achieving the re-circulation of the fluid in instants that the process does not demand it. This work evaluates the performance of hybrid solar modules (FV/T) to supply sterilization processes through autoclaves, whereby a complete model of a PVT-Premium module is generated and simulations are carried out to evaluate the use of these modules to supply an autoclave 636-2FD.
