SPECjbb2015 is the latest benchmark suite from SPEC that evaluates Java application servers. In this paper, we present a preliminary study of power and performance analysis on SPECjbb2015, in particular, the power reduction by means of DFS parameter tuning and its trade-off against the service level agreement (SLA) based performance metrics. We run SPECjbb2015 on the Composite (standalone) and Distributed (networked) configurations. On the Composite configuration, DFS tuning can reduce the power consumption by up to 12W but it also lowers the SLA metrics by up to 40%. On the Distributed configuration, the maximum power reduction with the DFS is similar to the Composite, but the CPU saturates at around 80% throughput of the Composite and degrades the SLA-based metrics by 50%.
