摘要

Low-frequency oscillation (LFO) occurs in electrification railway system from time to time, which can lead to traction blockades in electric multiple unit (EMU) depots. When the impedance between the traction network and locomotives in the electrical coupling system does not match, the stability of the electrical coupling system will deteriorate and LFO will occur. There have been some suppression methods from the train side. However, the control strategy and parameters of the electric train is usually complicated and confidential, so these methods from the train side are generally complicated and not entirely practical. Nevertheless, based on impedance matching criterion, the paper proposes an approach to suppress LFO in the traction network of high-speed railway, utilizing Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation (TCSC) in the traction network side. And the effectiveness is verified with MATLAB/Simulink simulations.
